Dr. Chey is currently a Professor of GI & Nutrition Sciences at the University of Michigan. He directs a number of programs at the University including the Digestive Disorders Nutrition & Lifestyle Program and Michigan Bowel Control Program. His research interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of functional bowel disorder, acid-related disorders, and Food and Diet. Dr. Chey has authored more than 300 manuscripts, reviews and book chapters. He was editor Emeritus of the American Journal of Gastroenterology (2015-2015), and Clinical & Translational Gastroenterology (2011-2014) . He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American College of Gastroenterology, the Counsel of the American Neurogastroenterology & Motility Society, the Advisory Board of the International Foundation of Functional GI Disorders, and a Board member of the Rome Foundation since 2010. Dr. Chey has been elected to the “Best Doctors“ since 2001 and “Americas Top Doctors“ since 2009, among many other awards and recognitions.
